Anyone Have Experience With Space-Gard Media Air Filter?
I need to do something about the dust in my home. Someone I know recommended the Space-Gard media air filter. Below is some information from the mfr.: "The Space-Gard High Efficiency Air Cleaner has been a silent, low-maintenance, inexpensive air filtration system. I am having a new home built and I specified a Honeywell Electrostatic. When I got to the site I saw a SpaceGard unit. I questioned the HVAC guy and he went on to say that after 10 years of owning what I had asked for, he ripped his out of the funace and installed a SG. The maint. on an electrostatic is suppose to be a pain in the butt. Most people think that throwing it into the dishwasher cleans it...the mfg. recommends a professional cleaning once a year. It's cheaper to replace a SG filter. I had an HVAC guy install an air cleaner in my home. I had asked him the prices on the high-quality ones, such as an electrostatic, and he suggested that the Space-Gard was the best thing going. It was installed for $600. I can't recall how much the replacement filters are, but it is time to replace one again.
