Air Conditioner Fried In My 96 Ford Taurus
compressor will not come on,,,,or even try to come on...makes me think it is a bad fuse or something..where exactly is the fuse or switch that might be the problem in this car...again it is a 96 ford taurus

The ac units in cars are hooked into the engine computers now. It could be many things. The ac compressor could be bad. A leak could have taken all the coolant out of the system. An electrical issue with the switches could be to blame. There is a switch that cuts off the compressor when you stomp on the gas to give the motor more power-that could be bad. The belt could have broken and come off or could be slipping. Taurus's had pretty fragile electrical systems. You could be heading for an electrical sytem meltdown or it could be just a simple fix. Either way I recommend you take it to a shop to get checked out
