My Air Conditioner Is Not Blowing Cold Air. The Air Is About The Same Temp. As The Other Air In The House.?

Question:
On Friday our electricity went off for 45 min. soon after it came back on we left for the evening. When we came back several hours later the house was warm. We checked the breaker box and saw that we blew the fuse to our ac so we flipped it back on. The ac came on so we went to bed. We woke up to a hot house the next morning. We also noticed that the pipe coming from the ac unit to the house is covered in ice. Is that normal. If that is not normal then what should I do to thaw that out. Could anything else have happened? Today I hosed out the ac to get the coil cleaned off. We also replaced the filter. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Answer:
when you hosed it out was this the inside or outside unit you hosed out....the inside unit is the one that needs to be cleaned to prevent freeze ups...here are possible problems...1 dirty a-coil 2 dirty filter 3 low on freon 4 all of the above... No, the freezing up is not normal-it is because there is dirt in the coils somewhere (or there is a leak and the refrigerant is leaking out). I have had this happen before - below are some links that talk about it and what to do (you will probably need to call an AC repair person).
