Isolating Garage Door Opener For Sound Control
I have two garage door openers and I would like to provide some sort of isolation for them to keep the vibration/noise from being transferred to the joist they are attached to. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Answer:
Try the experts in this stuff... http://www.lordmpd.com/ I'm sure they have something which will do the job for you just dandy. But, how much of the noise comes from the opener and how much from the door/wheels/rails? Have you tried listening with the opener disengaged from the door while someone else raises and lowers the door by hand? You might just have to insulate the rail mounts too, and that's gonna be a fun job.
