Wayne Dalton Doormaster Garage Door Opener

Question:
I had the Wayne Dalton Doormaster Garage Door Opener installed with a Wayne Dalton door when I built my new home in 2000. It took 2 years to get the opener to work with Homelink. More importantly, the electronic circuitry fails every few months. My dealer, who sells a great number of Wayne Dalton products, told me that they will not sell the Doormaster any more because it is so unreliable, and has suggested that I discard it and have a conventional Wayne Dalton Quantum opener installed in its place. In doing a Google search, I have found other Wayne Dalton dealers mentioning the Doormaster problems in their web sites. A real disappointment. I am thinking of starting a class action against Wayne Dalton.

Answer:
Installed a door and same opener for my mother. One year later no problem. The backup battery is a great feature, for she lives in a rule area prone to power outages.
