Garage Door Opener Recommendations?
I don't know how far north you are, but I have had multiple screw drive units for over 20 years operating at temperatures of 15º below and lower, unheated detached garage with no problems.

They work fine up north as long as you use the right grease on the screw. We always used Lubriplate. Heavy grease will gum up so bad in cold weather that the motor can't turn the screw.
