Garage Door Opener For 3-Car Garage
I'm having a house built with a three car garage. Are there any garage door openers available for 3-car garages? If so, which is best? Or am I best off getting 2 seperate car garage openers and having them installed? Also, which garage door openers are best? Are there any I should stay away from? I'm not very handy and planned on buying one at Sears or Home Depot and having them install it. Any advice?
Answer:
You're going to have three doors, right? It doesn't matter how many garage doors you have, you need a separate opener for each one. The Sears units work just fine, I installed two of them in my garage, no problems. They have a remote with three buttons. Each button can be programmed to open a different door. So one remote will be able to open all three of your doors. Your house should have an electrical outlet installed in the ceiling of your garage in front of each door. If you decide to install the Sears unit yourself, be aware that there is a bracket necessary for mounting to the ceiling. Sears sells it separately.
