Genie Garage Door Opener Questio
I live in Maryland and had to open my garage door while I was without power. I used the short cord/rope that WAS attached to the garage door opener to open it manually. When I went to use the same device to close it, the rope assembly came out of the "carriage inner slide". Can anyone tell me how to attach the rope assembly back to the inner slide, as now the inner slide cannot open, or close, the garage door. The slide operates correctly, but it is disconnected from the arm that is attached to the garage door. All help is greatly appreciated!
Answer:
Is it disconnected completely, or disengaged? When you pull the rope, the 2" arm moves 90 degrees, and the teeth are pulled out of the spiral track or the chain. Press upward toward the track on where the eye for the rope is. It should click back into the grooves. I believe it is a simple thing, but can't be sure that is your problem without seeing it.
