Craftsman Garage Door Opener

Not sure what the trouble code is, but one reason a garage door opener suddenly stops working is because too much force is required to open it. Perhaps it's accidentally been manually locked, or the door spring itself has malfunctioned. You can confirm or eliminate that possibility by disconnecting the opener from the door and trying to open the door by hand. If it's easy to open and balances properly, then that's not the problem. Answer:
If the door is jammed or locked you'll notice the opener trying to move it. There will at least be some noise and some jerking of the drive carriage as the unit tries to start. To be doubly sure, pull the emergency release on the drive carriage and try the opener.
