Garage Door Opener Electric Eye
The electric eye that keeps my garage door opener from closing the door when the path is obstructed is acting up and I am trying to trouble-shoot it. There are two wires from it to the opener main unit attached to terminals labeled OBS and COMMON. Does anyone know what the main unit expects to see on those wires? Shorting the terminals together does nothing.

I am trying to trouble-shoot the electric eye on my Garage Door Opener which prevents the door from closing when the path is obstructed, which is operating intermintently. There are two wires from the electric eye to the Garge Door Opener main unit which attach to terminals labeled OBS and COMMON. Does anyone know how these circuits work on how to over-ride the eye? Shorting the two terminals does nothing.
