Garage Door Opener Problem
My garage door opener has started behaving strangely . Previously, I would touch the garage door opener button and the door will close . Now I have to hold onto the button till the door closes . If I just touch the button , the garage door starts closing but stops immediately .. Does anybody has clue what could have happened or what do I need to do to fix it .

I just went through the same thing, if it is a Genie or Overhead Door brand it means that there is a problem with the Infrared Sensors or the sequencer board. The problem may be that something has bumped into one of the infrared sensors (transmitter or receiver - the two black boxes on either side of the bottom of your garage door) and knocked them out of alignment. This is easily fixed by realigning them. Generally, they have an LED that will flash if something is obstructing the light beam or if they are misaligned. Also, check to make sure that the lenses are clean and that there is nothing blocking the infrared beam.
