My Garage Door Opener Will Smash My Car
fter our inspector went thru our new/used house today he pointed out that are garage door opener safety feature does not work. Meaning when the door comes down and makes contact with an object it does not reverse. I have a craftsman 1/2 HP Model 139.53515SR. There seems to be two knobs to adjust downward and upward force and that's it. If I adjust the downward force will it fix the problem?

Probably. Mine are Stanleys, and the drill is to lay a broomstick on the floor and adjust the "big black knob" so it will reverse. I check this out every year. If I am correct, Chamberlain makes Sears openers. You can look an see if they have a Web site -- odds are you can find some info there if not from Sears.
