Bizarre Garage Door Opener Behavior
I have a ~1 year old chamberlain 1/2hp garage door opener. In the last month it has become very difficult to get it to open from the outside. More specifically: I have to pull right up to the door and push the (remote) button multiple (sometimes taking a minute or more) times to get it to open. The same thing happens with both of my (remote) controllers. I changed the batteries on the openers, no difference. And strangely, when leaving the house, I can -close- the door from the end of the driveway (about 30 feet I would guess). Before it started doing this, I could open the door from the end of the driveway no problem. I can't figure out why it has become so finicky - any ideas?
Answer:
Is the antenna wire still in orignal shape on the receiver(opener side). It is kinda looks like just apig tail wire hanging down. And open your remote and carefully examine the circuit board if there is any hair line crack. Alkaline battery is not a good choice for the remote. Ordinary 9V is better choice for the current requirement(I was told by garage door people on this). Good luck,
