Garage Door Opener
I have a very old garage door opener that just keeps working and working. This weekend it stopped working. The opener can no longer lift the door. When I detach the door from the opener, the system works fine, with the connector moving back and forth as commanded. I reattached the opener to the door and as the opener began its cycle I helped it lift the door. After about a foot of lift, it managed to raise the door. When I lowered the door it didn't brake the door on its descent and basically dropped the door. Is the unit toast? Is there something I'm missing that should be reattached?
Answer:
Sorry, but there will be no check. The problem appears to be that the spring is no longer attached to the door. Since I don't remember where it attached, I can't see where it attached, and I don't have time to try to figure it out, the garage door guy is coming out to look at it and repair it tomorrow.
