Oh, Yeah..and While I'm Here...Garage Door Opener
I have a garage door opener that won't stay shut when it's raining or humid out. On dry days, it'll go down and stay down. On wet/humid days, it'll go down all the way, then raise back up. I know very little about garage door openers, except that they handy as heck when it's nasty outside. What do I need to check on it to stop this from happening?
Answer:
Sounds like the door expands slightly when wet and rubs against the door frame enough to cause the door to stall and reverse. If increasing the closing force slightly (see your opener's manual) doesn't solve the problem you will need to adjust the tracks farther back from the trim. There's also a slight chance that the problem is the door expanding vertically and hitting the floor before the down limit kicks in. If so, adjust the travel slightly so the door stops just a hair sooner.
