Help With Portable Air Conditioners?
I am thinking about getting a portable air conditioner for my bedroom. I was originally going to get just a window one installed but I am probably moving out soon so portable would be better. I need to know what to look for, if any one can recommend a great brand and where I could buy one in Brisbane, Australia. Thanks

Our store 100% does NOT recommend portable air conditioners. They have a higher repair rate, they require you follow the manual carefully as they need to be run a certain way to 'prep' them or they will never work right again, and you do not get the amount of cooling for your money as you will with a window unit. Buy a window unit, install it, and when you move out just take it with you. It's not difficult to do, and they are usually adjustable to fit different size windows! Just make sure you get one that has enough BTU's to cool whatever room you will be putting it in! There is some matter of opinion here, so I'm not really saying they are all crap, but if you absolutely need to have a portable AC make sure you check out some reviews on it first as well as consumer affairs.
