Are Those Portable Air Conditioners Really Worth The Price?
how much of an area do they really cool? are they likely to break down?

We have been running ours every night, spring through fall, for the past three years. It has never broken down and it's been worth it's weight in gold to us. Our bedroom is on the second floor and always stayed hot. Now we don't have to sell our house to get a good nights sleep. I just can not sleep if I'm hot. like any AC they'll breakdown in time and you have to see if the AC that you want can handle you area.. also most of this AC's are throwaway units because it costs more to fix than the unit costs.
