Portable Air Conditioners?
I was wondering about portable air conditioners. How well do they work? What should I expect to pay for one (I only need about 7,000 BTUs). Are they very energy efficient? Are they much hassle? Anything you can give me from your experiences with them would b great. Thanks

Portable AC's have only one convenience that they are portable. The draw back is that you need to attach plastic folding pipe on its hot air outlet , which you need to temporarily connect to a open window, in order to vent out the hot air coming out from the portable AC unit. Secondly, in terms of value for money portable is more expensive than window AC, for 7000 BTU I think even 0.75 Tons Window type is more than sufficient (it consumes 890 watts) If the above is not a problem for you then sure you can go for Portable.
