I have an car that doesnt have airconditioner and I was wondering if there is and portable airconditioner to take in it. Also I have this bike caddie for my daughter and I wanted to see there is a portable ac to keep her cool while we ride the bicycle in the park.
Answer:
There are portable units for cars and also portable devices for personal use. http://www.kooleraire.com/News.htm http://www.swampy.net/boat.html http://www.discovertesting.com/products/... http://www.coolsport.net/index2.html http://www.roshgo.com/Merchant2/merchant... about your car theres a hanging type evaporator you could install to that and you just buy a new compressor, and everything you need, the disadvantage to that hanging type is that the cold air cannot go to the backside of the car immediately because you and your passenger are blocking it. and about the bike, i think i dont have a suggestion to that. Hi.......there are several portable air conditioners on the market, but generally they are for apts or buildings with sealed windows or no windows. The are also very expensive. Check with a company like "Sharper Image". You can get a/c installed in virtually any car nowadays, "Vintage Air" is a company that makes kits for many different antique cars......as you know, most 32 Fords and 49 chevy's didnt come with a/c. I think it was invented around 1952. The kit is adaptable to late model cars too. Your only other possible option ( the one i use), is to get a 12 volt fan. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and blows the air directly onto your face, or anywhere else. You should be able to get one on ebay or an auto parts store, $10-20. For your child, put a basket on the bike, and mount the fan on the handle bars (it usually comes with a clamp). Get a 12 volt garden tractor battery for $25, put it in the basket, and use a bungy cord to tie it down. Cut the cigarette light receptacle off the end of the fan, and just wire it directly to the battery......dont worry, the fan usually has an on/off switch. I never heard of A/C on a bike, or even a motorcycle. But, who knows!!! You might have just come up with a million dollar idea!!!! Good Luck!!!
