What's The Name Of This Type Of Air Conditioner
Hi... In Europe I saw a two-piece portable air conditioner. The inside piece (evaporator) is connected to the outside piece (condenser) via a 1-2" diameter tube. I thought this would be great for a certain application I have in mind and would like to get one. BUT, I don't know what they're called, so I can't do a google search

Are you sure its portable? The reason I ask, is that the mini ductless splits are connected when installed correctly, by what looks like one tube..but its not....its several that are in one connector..for space and looks.I 'll bet you are looking for the Mitsubishi. There is no ductwork, the unit hangs on the wall with a low profile. Drainage is wierd of course. I get called for unusual applications of HVAC&R , but it has been awhile since I have used one of these. For the drain, try to place the unit above a filing cabinet or similar and run the tube behind it. You'll need a condensate pump to move the water to an acceptible drain.
